The 2016 Mayor’s Day of Concern for the Hungry collected 7,800 pounds of food for the Multi-Service Center’s food bank, according to Multi-Service Center CEO Robin Corak.
The donation drive was organized and touted by city officials, the mayor’s office and Waste Management, with Waste Management drivers picking up donated goods during their usual collection days. The collection-day pickups alone yielded 4,400 pounds of food – more than half of the total donations.
