A 27-year-old Federal Way man was taken to the hospital Sunday morning for life-threatening injuries and his 47-year-0ld father taken into custody following a shooting at a residence they shared.

At approximately 10 a.m., officers responded to the townhomes at 1300 SW Campus Drive for a fight involving family members during which someone had been shot.

Federal Way Police spokesperson Cathy Schrock said in an email, officers took the victim’s father into custody after initial investigation indicated he was responsible for shooting his son.

The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center. He was described as conscious and alert at the time. Detectives and crime scene investigators were at the townhome for several hours conducting a full investigation.

Schrock said further information will be released after the investigation is concluded and charges are filed.
