The city will host the annual Red, White and Blues Festival on July 4 at Celebration Park. Live music begins at 6 p.m., with a 22-minute fireworks show starting at 10:15 p.m.

Parking

There will be on-site event parking available at Celebration Park for $7. ADA parking will be available in the main lot. Space is limited. (Click here for a map of Celebration Park, located at South 324th Street and 13th Place South).

Food

• Murph’s BBQ: sausages, hot dogs, BBQ chicken sandwich, pop, corn, chips and candy.

• Crown Catering: coffee, espresso, churros, pretzels, iced tea, lemonade, strawberry shortcake, and nachos.

• Pacific Island Grill: Loli Loli chicken, kalua pork, smoked kalua pork, Hawaiian kalua pork sliders, lumpia, and Hawaiian iced tea.

• Federal Way Hispanic Four Square Church: duros, takis, mango on a stick, coconut, jicama, flavored water, beef tacos, pupusas, slush puppies, and cotton candy.

• Ice Cream Lady: waffle cones, chocolate dipped bars, root beer floats, chocolate dipped cheesecake, hot fudge sundaes, strawberry sundaes, hot fudge brownie sundae, and strawberry pound cake sundaes.

• Complete Energy Hawaiian Shave Ice: Hawaiian shave ice.

• Billy McHale’s: deluxe cheeseburger with chips, pulled pork sandwich, polish dog, and Coke products.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Can I bring a grill or BBQ to the event?

A: No. Briquettes, grills or barbecues are not allowed on the park grounds or parking lot.

Q: Can I bring my canopy or tent to set up for the event?

A: No. Personal canopies or tents are not allowed on the festival grounds. Single-pole umbrellas or small children’s tents are allowed, as long as they are not staked into the ground.

Q: Are pets allowed at the festival?

A: Pets are not allowed at the park, unless they are registered medical assistance pets.

Q: What should we bring to be prepared for the event?

A: Bring sunscreen, blankets and lawn chairs. While the event is free, you will need cash to pay for parking, select activities, and food vendors. A designated eating area is provided, so please do not bring tables.

Live music/main stage schedule

• 6 p.m., Bullet Creek: Bullet Creek is the Northwest’s newest rocking country band featuring Joe Slick and Duncan Shadrack. Based out of Snohomish County, they play a rocking brand of original and cover music. Their sound is a blend ranging from Keith Urban to Johnny Cash.

• 7:10 p.m.: Mayoral address and introduction of elected officials

• 7:30 p.m., New Blues Brothers: The New Blues Brothers have been thrilling audiences throughout the Northwest for two decades. Comprised of nine of the best musicians, this band has over 200 years of entertaining experience. Performers in this band have shared stages with Merrilee Rush, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Bo Diddley, Toto, Mitch Ryder, Bachman–Turner Overdrive, Tony Bennett, Mel Torme, Stevie Wonder, The Association, The Mamas and Papas, Ray Charles, The Four Tops, and The Manhattan Transfer. Based on the legendary Blues Brothers band fronted by John Belushi and Dan Akroyd, the New Blues Brothers remind you of the fun of the classic movie and gets you dancing right from the start.

• 8:45 p.m.: Hot dog eating contest

• 9 p.m., Mr. Pink: From the creators of the Afrodisiacs and Spazmatics comes Mr. Pink, a tribute to all of the greatest female artists in history. Covering five decades of music, Mr. Pink performs everything from Aretha Franklin and Madonna to Lady Gaga. All of this is produced with 1990s retro dance remix flair. The novelty, however, is that Mr. Pink is an all-male band with an uncanny ability to present these anthems with the same fire and passion as the ground-breaking women they pay homage to. No wigs or drag, just four handsome gents ready to escort you on to the dance floor for nonstop house-party frenzy.

• 10:15 p.m.: Fireworks begin (22-minute professional show)

Games

As always there will be a host of games and other activities for all ages. You can also stop by the interactive arts tent and try your hand at one of the many arts and crafts projects. A designated free play area will be set up for children ages 3-5, including parachute games and bubbley.

With the purchase of a $5 wristband, kids of all ages gain entrance to the FUN ZONE, featuring:

• Dodgeball

• Tug-o-war

• 3-Legged race

• Face painting

• Interactive sports

• Paintball will be available for a small fee.
