The Federal Way Community Center will close for four weeks starting Tuesday, Nov. 17, according to Federal Way Mayor Jim Ferrell.
The decision was made in accordance with Governor Jay Inslee’s Sunday morning press conference, which outlined new statewide steps to protect public heath against the spread of COVID-19.
As a result of the restrictions, the community center will be closed until Dec. 14.
“We are asking those in our community to continue to practice safe social distancing protocols and mask wearing,” Ferrell said. “We will continue to do everything we can for our local businesses.”
The City of Federal Way recently completed two rounds of CARES Act funds disbursements totaling approximately $2.5 million to local businesses. Ferrell said the city will continue to advocate for any future federal and state funding that can provide support to Federal Way businesses.
