Federal Way celebrates Easter weekend with community events

Despite the downpour over Federal Way, families were all smiles while celebrating Easter events throughout the weekend.

At the annual Light of Christ Community Garden Easter event, children enjoyed crafts, tractor rides, games, ponies, a scavenger hunt, and took photos with the Easter Bunny. Of course, the event also featured an egg hunt.

The Table, a multi-ethnic at the church and community center in Federal Way, hosted its second annual Easter Fest in The Commons mall. The festivities welcomed over 700 people on April 8, said Arianna Thomas of the Table. The Table also celebrated its one-year anniversary last weekend.

Nearby businesses, such as Chick-fil-A and Target which donated 5,000 eggs to the church, and other churches helped make The Table’s Easter event possible.

Families and kids of all ages enjoyed free photos with the Easter Bunny, a cake walk and games. Kids also got to take home sweet treats of candy-stuffed eggs and cotton candy.
