At 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, a pair of motorcycle drivers were headed southbound on SW Dash Point Road and were attempting to pass traffic via the northbound lane, according to police. The driver of one motorcycle entered the northbound lane and passed two vehicles.

The driver of the other motorcycle entered the northbound lane to pass two vehicles when a minivan pulled out from SW 306th Street to cross SW Dash Point Road. The motorcycle driver attempted to skid or slow down, police said, but collided with the minivan broadside. The 22-year-old male rider, a Federal Way resident, died upon impact, according to police. The motorcycle rider has been identified as Vasiliy Vasilyevich Shudrya, according to the King County Medical Examiner.

An adult female driver and four passengers of the minivan were not injured in the May 24 collision, although a passenger suffered superficial cuts from broken glass, according to police.

An investigation is ongoing.
