Roadwork on South 320th Street snarled traffic in Federal Way all day Monday, with some drivers waiting up to 20 minutes to pass through the intersection at 1st Avenue South.
Another phase of the 2011 Asphalt Overlay Project began Monday. Drivers should expect delays on South 320th Street and 1st Avenue South through the end of next week when work is expected to be finished (weather permitting), according to city spokesman Chris Carrel.
The proposed work will stretch between 3rd Lane Southwest to 6th Avenue South. The plan includes a two-and-a-half-inch overlay of South 320th Street, repairing sidewalks, repairing curbs and gutters, replacing traffic loops, adjusting existing utilities, restriping, and upgrading and installing wheelchair ramps, according to the city.
