Man caught taking photos of church preschool areas | Federal Way Police Blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log Jan. 4-9.

Jan. 4

On Jan. 4, there were at least 12 reports of vehicle theft or theft of vehicle license plates.

Attempted car theft: At about 9:17 a.m. near the 1200 block of South 308th Street, a person reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person attempted to steal a person’s vehicle while it was parked. An unknown suspect shattered the driver’s side rear window and tore apart the ignition.

Stolen items: At about 10:47 a.m. near the 33000 block of 10th Avenue SW, a person reported to police that sometime overnight, an unknown suspect stole several items from the person’s garage. The person accidentally left the garage open overnight. The stolen items came to an estimated total of $800.

Graffiti vandalism: At about 12:41 p.m. near the 2100 block of South 314th Street, a city employee saw unknown suspects spray painting graffiti on a building. They also attempted to spray paint over the Veterans Memorial at the top of the city steps, but were scared off by the employee.

Jan. 5

On Jan. 5, there were at least 2 reports of vehicle theft or theft of vehicle license plates.

Gas station robbed at gunpoint: At about 4:13 a.m. near the 32000 block of Military Road South, the Mobil gas station was robbed by a suspect armed with a gun.

Road rage shooting: At about 2:50 p.m. near the 31500 block of 1st Avenue South, a confrontation over driving escalated into unidentified juvenile suspects firing shots at the victims. The suspects fled the scene and there were no injuries.

Jan. 6

On Jan. 6, there were at least 3 reports of vehicle theft or theft of vehicle license plates.

Stolen vehicle stopped: At about 7:30 a.m. near the 33900 block of 20th Avenue South, officers contacted an unlicensed vehicle which ended up being reported as a stolen vehicle. Two occupants inside were detained and later released after being identified.

Shattered car window: At about 5:54 p.m. near the 35100 block of Enchanted Parkway South, a person parked their car at the Costco tire center when an unknown suspect shattered there are window. No items from the car were stolen. The tire center employees took a photo of the suspect’s license plate. The break-in was also captured on video.

Jan. 7

Nightclub shot: At about 2:45 a.m. near the 2012 block of South 320th Street, an unknown suspect fired rounds at the Armani Nightclub.

Suspects seek Subway safe: At about 4:10 a.m. near the 2100 block of South 336th Street, officers responded to a burglary in progress at a Subway sandwich shop. Video shows two subjects in dark clothing using hammers to gain entry to a safe inside the store. The suspects fled the area.

On Jan. 7, there were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or theft of vehicle license plates.

Road rage shooting: At about 4:48 p.m. near the 35600 block of Pacific Highway South, a person reported a road rage incident after a driver in a silver Honda pointed a pistol at him and fired several shots. The person was not injured, and also did not want to cooperate with police.

Jan. 8

On Jan. 8, there was at least one report of vehicle theft or theft of vehicle license plates.

Man taking photos of preschool areas: At about 9:13 a.m. near the 2400 block of SW 344th Street, police responded to a suspicious man who was visiting churches and taking photographs of preschool areas.

Man masturbates in front of person: At about 5 p.m. near the 1200 block of South 324th Street, officers responded to the scene after a person said a suspect watched her, exited his vehc8ile and began to masturbate in front of her. The person reported that the man did not say anything to her or physically contact her.

Jan. 9

On Jan. 9, there were at least 5 reports of vehicle theft or theft of vehicle license plates.

Man shoots at dog: At about noon near the 2000 block of South 299th Street, officers responded to a report of several aggressive dogs on the loose in a neighborhood. The dogs approached a man who said he was in fear of his safety and he shot a firearm to protect himself.

Student brings knife on bus: At about 4:15 p.m. near the 32900 block of 1st Avenue South, a bus driver was notified by students on board that one of the students had a knife and a gun. The bus driver recovered a black knife which was in the shape of a small pistol from the student. The knife was then given to police.
