There was one vehicle theft, and four vehicles were recovered on this day.
Gun stolen from vehicle: At about 6:20 a.m. in the 34000 block of 2nd Lane S., an officer responded to a report of a firearm theft from a vehicle. The reporting party stated that the day prior, she was bringing in groceries from her vehicle and left the trunk open. She said she noticed that the next day, her trunk was open, and her firearm was stolen from inside the trunk. She said the firearm was in an unlocked gun case.
False alarm school shooting threat: At a middle school in Federal Way, an officer responded to a threat of a school shooting that someone had seen on TikTok. The officer was advised that the threat could be old and had already been investigated. It was determined that there was no active threat to the school.
Robbery and assault on BPA trail: At about 2:35 p.m. in the 800 block of S. 327th St., officers were dispatched to a strongarm robbery call that had taken place on the BPA trail. Officers arrived on the scene and contacted the victim, who had just been assaulted and robbed of his possessions. The officers obtained suspect information and searched the area, and the victim was transported to St. Francis Hospital for medical treatment.
Sept. 19
There were two vehicle thefts, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.
Gas station robbery: At about 1:45 p.m. in the 27000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., officers responded to an armed robbery at a gas station. The suspect fled in a vehicle prior to police arrival.
Homicide: At about 1 a.m. in the 2200 block of S. Star Lake Road, officers were dispatched to the sounds of gunshots and multiple vehicles getting hit. Callers stated that a black vehicle had hit several vehicles, and no one was getting out of the vehicle. Officers arrived and located a male in the driver’s seat. The male was not moving or breathing. The male had several gunshot wounds. Medics arrived on the scene and pronounced the male deceased. The Mirror’s article on this matter can be found here.
Man exposing himself: At about 10 a.m. on the 1300 block of S. 320th Street, a man was arrested and booked after officers responded to a call stating that he was exposing himself. When officers responded to the scene, the man began to flee. A foot chase ensued until he was caught and placed under arrest.
Tip scam: At about 3:15 p.m. in the 1300 block of S. 324th Street, officers responded to a restaurant where the owner found out that a waitress was changing the tip dollar amount on customers’ receipts and taking the amount overcharged. Officers filed a report and forwarded it to the prosecution office.
Sept. 20
There was one vehicle theft, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Robbery and assault: At about 11:15 a.m. in the 33000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., an employee called 911 to report that he observed two males fighting in the street, and one was seen with a firearm. The employee provided surveillance footage of the event, in which two males are seen fighting, and one displays what appears to be a black firearm. The employee said the victim is heard saying, “I don’t have money,” and then shortly afterward throwing a wad of cash over the fence. The employee stated that both the victim and the suspect left the location, and the victim said he did not want police involved.
Sept. 21
There were zero vehicle thefts, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.
Illicit discharge: At about 9:10 a.m. in the 2700 block of S. Star Lake Road, officers responded to a report of an illicit discharge of a weapon. A vehicle was damaged.
Robbery with a firearm: At about noon in the 32000 block of 47th Ave. SW, officers responded to a report of a robbery with a firearm. Based on investigation, probable cause was found, but the suspect was gone upon arrival.
Man hit with a car: At about 9:35 p.m. in the 32000 block of Military Road S., officers responded to a report of a person vs. vehicle collision. Upon arriving, officers found a male with a head injury. He stated he could not remember what happened. Multiple people in a nearby apartment said they heard the sounds of a crash just prior to the discovery of the male. No suspect. The male was transported to Harborview.
Sept. 22
There were three vehicle thefts, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Indecent exposure: At about 5:30 p.m. in the 30000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., officers responded to a report of lewd activity. A male who matched the description of the suspect was contacted at the scene. Probable cause was found for indecent exposure. The male was taken into custody, placed in handcuffs, and transported to SCORE jail, where he was booked.
Firearm stolen from vehicle: At about 9:35 p.m. in the 1400 block of SW 312th St., someone said that he noticed the ignition was damaged on his vehicle. Then, he told officers that his firearm was missing from his trunk. He said the pistol was in the trunk, unloaded, but with a loaded magazine next to it.
Sept. 23
There were two vehicle thefts, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Man shot: At about 1:30 a.m. in the 33000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., officers were advised of a shooting with one male injured. Officers arrived on the scene and provided first aid. The male was transported to the hospital. Officers investigated, but could not get a conclusive narrative from the victim or witnesses.
Confederate flag sweatshirt: At about 6 a.m. in the 30000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., a man said he was walking home when a suspect approached him. The suspect said he did not like his sweatshirt, which displayed the Confederate flag. The suspect then chest-bumped and shoved the man and stated if he saw him wearing the sweatshirt again, he would hit him with his vehicle.
Sept. 24
There were two vehicle thefts, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.
Woman robbed: At about 12:50 a.m. on the 300 block of SW 294th Place, officers were contacted by an individual who explained that his spouse was robbed in front of their house. No suspect description.
Elderly female robbed: At about 3:15 p.m. on the 31000 block of 14th Ave. S., an elderly female reported that she had been approached by several people in a white sedan and robbed of her 100-year-old ring. A female passenger took the ring off of her finger and searched her coat pocket before fleeing. No suspects were located.
