The Federal Way Parks Department is hoping to have more than 500 volunteers turn out for the annual Earth Day in Federal Way event on Saturday, April 16. Efforts are being organized in eight city parks, including Celebration Park, West Hylebos Wetlands and Saghalie Park. Volunteer activities will begin at 9 a.m. and run until noon.
Volunteers are asked to bring shovels, gloves and clippers (if available) that are labeled with their names. The parks department will have a limited number of tools and gloves available. Volunteers are also advised to dress appropriately for the day’s weather. To volunteer, call Leah Fraine at (253) 835-6926.
