Drunken teens stir up trouble over smokes | Federal Way crime blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

• Juvenile delinquency: At 12:59 a.m. July 23 at 29625 Pacific Highway South, three juvenile suspects entered a store and tried to purchase cigarettes. The clerk refused to sell the items because the juveniles were not 18. The suspects became disorderly, knocked stuff on the floor and threatened the clerk. Their blood alcohol levels were later taken. All were more than twice over the legal drinking limit.

• At 4:29 p.m. July 23 in the 32000 block of Pacific Highway South, a victim’s car was keyed on both sides while he or she was attending a movie at the cinemas.

• Pedal boat afloat: At 3:17 p.m. July 23 in the 3800 block of Southwest 321st Street, it was reported that someone pushed a pedal boat off a back porch and into a nearby lake. Two garden gnomes were also broken.

• Returned runaway: At 1:47 a.m. July 23 in the 27200 block of Pacific Highway South, police were dispatched to pick up a runaway juvenile who requested to be returned to a housing center. The runaway is a foster child.

• Ungrateful acquaintance: At 1.07 p.m. July 23 in the 31200 block of 20th Avenue South, it was reported that a victim let a female acquaintance stay the night at her residence after the woman’s boyfriend was put in jail. The acquaintance stole the victim’s spare car keys, wallet, cash, bank card and savings account information.

• Found wallet: At 1:49 p.m. July 23 at 2200 Commons, a person reported finding a wallet in an Auburn park. While at The Commons mall, he or she turned the wallet over to a police officer that was also at the mall. Police were unable to find a contact number for the wallet’s owner. It was booked for safekeeping.
