Nov. 15
There were at least 6 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 4 vehicles were recovered.
Residential burglary: Sometime between midnight and 8 a.m., a burglary occurred at a residence in the 31000 block of 6th Avenue South. There were no signs of forced entry. There is no suspect information.
Drug related death: After becoming concerned that a co-worker had not shown up for work, a co-worker checked on him at home. The man was found dead in his room with suspected fentanyl paraphernalia in his hand.
Weapons threat after shoplifting: At approximately 3:30 p.m. a loss prevention agent at the Commons Mall was threatened by a suspect after merchandise was recovered. The victim followed the suspect outside into the parking lot after which the suspect threatened to shoot him and displayed a pistol.
Nov. 16
There were at least 5 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 3 vehicles were recovered.
Gas station robbery: A gas station employee reported that at around 1:30 a.m., he was robbed at gunpoint by five males in ski masks. The gas station is located near the 32000 block of Military Road South.
Nov. 17
There were at least 3 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 5 vehicles were recovered.
Residential burglary: A victim reported that around 4:40 p.m. at a residence near the 34700 block of 4th Place South, a suspect entered her home through an open garage door, but was scared off when he saw the victim’s husband inside.
Nov. 18
There were at least 8 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 3 vehicles were recovered.
Reckless endangerment: Officers responded to a single vehicle rollover collision on an arterial around 3:45 a.m. near the 27400 block of Pacific Highway South. Upon arriving, police discovered that the vehicle had struck a boulder in the road. CCTV showed that an individual intentionally placed the boulder there and he was subsequently arrested.
Weapons offense: Police responded to a threat with a weapon around 5:50 p.m. near the 900 block of Southwest Campus Drive. While on the scene, probable cause was established for Assault 2, and the suspect was placed into custody.
Nonresidential burglary: A commercial alarm brought officers to a store in the 34900 block of Enchanted Parkway South sometime between 1 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. where they found water pouring out of the building and into the parking lot. The store was heavily damaged and flooding.
Nov. 19
There were at least 7 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 1 vehicle was recovered.
Animal problem: Dogs attacked a dog walker and her dog around 11:50 a.m. at the Village at Redondo. Officers were unable to ID a suspect dog owner.
Medical emergency leads to crash: A driver suffered diabetic shock, causing them to leave the roadway and crash into a Lakehaven water retention pond area. The driver was sent to the hospital and the vehicle was impounded.
Nov. 20
There were at least 5 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 1 vehicle was recovered.
Attempted nonresidential burglary: Around midnight, officers responded to an attempted commercial burglary near the 31800 block of Pacific Highway South. Upon arrival, officers attempted a traffic stop of a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle. The vehicle fled. The suspects did not enter the building, according to security camera footage.
Officer pursuit: After attempting to conduct a traffic stop on two juveniles for a DUI around 8:30 a.m., the vehicle evaded police, and due to traffic conditions, speeds and loss of visual, the pursuit was terminated.
Unsuccessful burglary: Around midnight, a stolen vehicle was used to ram the front door of a business on the 31200 block of Pacific Highway South. The ramming was unsuccessful in gaining entry and the suspects fled.
Juveniles with knife: A juvenile was arrested after officers responded to a call reporting threats with a knife. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. near the 33600 block of 21st Avenue Southwest.
