Drive-by shooting suspect caught | Federal Way Police Blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log Oct. 25-31.

Oct. 25

Living in car: At about 8:54 a.m. near South 336th Street and Weyerhaeuser Road, officers contacted subjects living out of their vehicles. The officers noticed a child in one of the vehicles and Child Protective Services was contacted.

Stolen wallet: At about 1:24 p.m. near the 35100 block of Enchanted Parkway South, a person was shopping at Costco when an unknown person reached into their handbag and stole their wallet.

Oct. 26

Pepper sprayed: At about 2:19 a.m. near the 35700 block of 16th Avenue South, a man and his girlfriend were pepper sprayed by a security officer after the man reportedly flashed a firearm at the security officer.

Hand sanitizer in water bottle: At about 3:27 p.m. near the 1700 block of South Commons, a person reported that the night before, someone put hand sanitizer into his water bottle when it was left unattended. The store’s surveillance footage confirmed the incident.

Oct. 27

Drive-by shooting: At about 3:15 p.m. near the 2100 block of South 295th Place, officers responded to reports of a drive-by shooting. Upon arrival, officers contacted a witness who identified the associated apartment. When officers contacted the apartment’s residents, no one wanted to talk about the shooting. No suspect information. Bullet shell casings were recovered from the scene.

Oct. 28

Security assaulted: At about 7:14 p.m. near the 1700 block of South Commons, grocery stores employees reported an on-site security guard was being assaulted by a male suspect. The suspect was contacted outside in the parking lot as he was leaving the store. The suspect refused to comply with police and was resisting arrest. After a short struggle, the suspect was arrested and booked into jail on assault and harassment charges.

Oct. 29

Fired up: At about 5:50 p.m. near the 34800 block of Enchanted Parkway South, after being served with a termination from employment, the suspect went on a rampage and took a co-workers cell phone and threw it on the pavement, causing significant damage.

Oct. 30

Walmart windows broken: At about 11:40 a.m. near the 1900 block of South 314th Street, a person was arrested after throwing rocks at the Walmart store’s windows, breaking them.

Random attack: At about 4:15 p.m. near the 29400 block of Pacific Highway South, a person was randomly attacked by a suspect.

Oct. 31

Kitten injured: At about midnight near the 33000 block of 33rd Avenue SW, a person called to report that two days prior, his friend/roommate threw his kitten at a TV stand, significantly injuring the kitten.

Drive-by shooting: At about 5:18 p.m. near the 1900 block of South Commons, a drive-by shooting was reported. An unknown man shot two rounds at the victim’s vehicle. The shooting suspect was identified as he left a burger restaurant at the mall.
