Vendors, performers and festival-goers will converge at H-Mart, 31217 Pacific Highway S., this weekend to celebrate and explore several Asian cultures.
The second annual Asian Food Festival began Friday and will continue through Sunday. Food, performances and kids’ activities are available.
Though the city is known for its large Korean population, the festival appeals to a larger population, said K.C. Jung, City of Federal Way’s Korean liaison.
“It’s not only for the Koreans,” she said.
The festival offers glimpses into Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese and other Asian cultures, she said. More than 40 food vendors are supplying tasty treats and answering questions about the traditional food, Jung said.
Face painting will happen from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Sunday. Korean dancing will take place from noon to 1 p.m. and from 4 to 5 p.m. today.
