Thomas Jefferson High School’s DECA has qualified to move on to the state conference in March.
DECA is a program with 3,500 chapters in high schools, which helps students build skills in leadership and entrepreneurship.
The team features Thomas Jefferson students: Jaime Yuk, David Jaquish, Paul Andrew McCleary, Nikhil Solomonson, Liam Bonifield, Kelly McCandless, Donavon Gomez, Maddy Ruppel, Shelby Garman, Sarah Carver, Victor Sharma, and Luqman Agyman.
Only four of these students — Yuk, Ruppel, Garman, and Carver — have competed for the team before.
“Congratulations, Thomsas Jefferson DECA,” District officials said in a news release. “We’re wishing you all the best at the state conference.”
