There was one vehicle thefts reported, and four vehicles were recovered on this day.
Threat with a gun: At about 12:30 a.m., in the 1900 block of SW 320th Street, there was a report that officers were dispatched to a threat with a gun. Upon investigation, both reporting parties were uncooperative, and no suspect was positively identified.
Threats with a machete: At about 11:30 a.m., in the 600 block of S. 348th St., there was a report that someone was making threats with a machete. The suspect was gone prior to police arrival.
Gas siphoned: At about 12:15 p.m., in the 28000 block of 25th Place S., a man reported that gas had been siphoned from his vehicle. The man said that the night before he parked, the tank was nearly full, and when he woke up, the tank was empty. No camera footage or suspect was located.
Hotel room: At about 6:35 p.m., in the 31000 block of Pacific Hwy S., there was a report that an unidentified female entered an unoccupied hotel room and attempted to steal much of the property within. It was unknown how the suspect made entry, but it was seemingly unlawful. The property was recovered by hotel staff before the suspect was able to leave the hotel. The suspect was described as a female in her 20s, with a yellow shirt and acid-washed pants. There are currently no leads to identify the suspect. The hotel did not suffer any monetary loss related to the property and is investigating how the female may have made entry.
Unlicensed food vendor: At about 10:30 p.m., on SW 336th Street and 21st Ave. SW, there was a report that police contacted an unlicensed food vendor. The vendor’s tent setup was partially obstructing the sidewalk. The employee closed down early and left without incident.
Feb. 13
There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Pyramid scheme: At about 10 a.m., in the 27000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., someone reported that over three months ago, they willingly gave $12,500 to someone as part of a pyramid scheme. The person who received the money has ceased all contact with the reporting party. No formal contract was signed. The agreement was strictly verbal.
Seller with stolen goods: At about 11:35 a.m., in the 33000 block of 8th Ave. S., there was a report that someone believed that his property was stolen out of his home in Seattle after being listed on eBay. The reporting party stated that the eBay seller was listed as operating out of Federal Way. No further suspect information other than the profile.
Attempted theft: At about 6 p.m., in the 1700 block of S. 352nd St., there was a report that a group of people recognized as being part of an organized retail theft group had been spotted in the store. The subjects had a reputation for being aggressive with employees, and they had already filled two carts with about $4,000 worth of merchandise. The group attempted to pay with a credit card, which was declined, and they then tried to simply walk out of the store. However, multiple employees swarmed the area and held onto the carts. All of the subjects then fled the store.
Fight: At about 5:30 p.m., in the 28000 block of Military Road S., officers responded to a report of a physical fight. On-scene officers contacted two females with visible minor injuries to their faces. Both females made comments that the other female initiated the fight, but neither wanted to provide statements or pursue criminal charges. The male involved was identified as the father of one of the females, but both females stated he did not participate in the assault. Because neither wished to be a victim, no probable cause was established for a crime.
Feb. 14
There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Dead dog in baby carriage: At about 2:10 p.m., in the 33000 block of 21st Ave. SW, an officer was dispatched to a dead animal call. South King Fire reported that an unknown person left a dead dog outside their station in a baby carriage. The officer retrieved the deceased dog in a stroller outside the station and transported it to Burien C.A.R.E.S. for disposal.
Feb. 15
There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Fire extinguisher: At about 1:15 a.m., in the 1700 block of S. 324th St., there was a report that a female had been sprayed by a fire extinguisher. Officers checked the area for a suspect, but none were located. The victim was later transported to the hospital.
Dog poisoning: At about 1:15 p.m., in the 30000 block of 21st Ave. SW, there was a report of a possible intentional dog poisoning.
Cigarette causes fire: At about 12:15 p.m., in the 32000 block of 30th Ave. SW, there was a report from the homeowner that he observed smoke coming from an upstairs bedroom. Once he entered, he found the mattress on fire. He utilized water to attempt to stop the fire, but when it became unmanageable, he exited the house. He stated that the fire was caused by a cigarette he placed in an ashtray on the bed. South King Fire did not believe it was an intentional fire. No injuries were reported.
Shotgun found on medical patient: At about 9:30 p.m., in the 31000 block of 23rd Ave. S., there was a report that the suspect was contacted during a medical-related incident. As the male was being placed onto the gurney for transport, a frisk of his person yielded a short-barreled shotgun. The suspect is a convicted felon and is not able to possess firearms.
Fire extinguisher discharge at restaurant: At about 9:30 p.m., in the 1600 block of S. 325th St., officers responded to a report of a male who discharged a fire extinguisher in a Korean BBQ restaurant when there was no fire. The extinguisher powder struck multiple people and caused damage and disruption to the business. A K9 track was unsuccessful.
Autozone theft: At about 9:30 p.m., in the 27000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., there was a report of a male suspect about 6 feet tall, who wore a dark blue jacket, black pants and a black mask that did not cover the suspect’s face. After entering the store, the male gathered a variety of items, described as floor mats, gloves and air pumps. The male exited the store without paying for the items. The male then got into the passenger side of a gray Mazda sedan that was driven by an older female with children in the backseat. Employees were unable to collect the exact amount of items stolen, but they were estimated to be worth over $10,000.
Feb. 16
There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Group robbery: At about 4:40 p.m., in the 900 block of SW Campus Drive, there was a report that a woman and her boyfriend, who was uncooperative, were accosted by five individuals who were present at an apartment that her boyfriend’s cousin rents. The individuals produced handguns and threatened both victims, ultimately striking both in the face. They then garnered all their valuables, including the car they came in. The group eventually fled in the victim’s vehicle prior to police arrival. The investigation was hampered by the fact that one victim and all the potential witnesses refused to cooperate.
Feb. 17
There were three vehicle thefts reported, and three vehicles were recovered on this day.
Hershey’s theft: At about 2:20 p.m., in the 35000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., there was a report that a man shoplifted from the store and took a whole box of Hershey’s worth about $100. The reporting party stated that the male frequents the wooded area behind the business. Officers searched the area, but did not locate anyone.
Pepper sprayed and robbed: At about 3:25 p.m., on 15th Ave. SW and SW 356th St., the reporting party stated that he was attempting to sell a vehicle diagnostic tool worth $900 on the marketplace when he was pepper sprayed in the face upon meeting the prospective buyer and his tool was stolen. The prospective buyer was a 5’10” light-skinned man with a thin build, in his 20s, wearing all black and silver Nikes. The case is inactive, leads exhausted.
Promethazine stolen: At about 8:50 p.m., in the 2100 block of SW 336th St., there was a report that two males in their 20s wearing black hoodies, black sweatpants, and blue medical face masks stole a bottle of Promethazine from the pharmacy counter. The bottle was valued at about $100. The males ran out of the store, got into a maroon sedan, and fled westbound in the parking lot.
Feb. 18
There were three vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Bowing alley dispute: At about 3:35 p.m., at Secoma Lanes, the reporting party stated that upon confronting a male subject in his bowling league about a bowling violation, the male made verbal threats toward his life, which placed the reporting party in fear. The reporting party was instructed not to return to the bowling alley so as not to provoke further incidents.
