Federal Way’s cycling enthusiasts and the police department’s bike squad are teaming up for the city’s first Community Bike Ride. The event is open to all interested cyclists and is designed to promote awareness of safe cycling in the city.
Riders will gather at 10 a.m. April 17 at the Federal Way Community Center, 876 S. 333rd St. The group will travel an 8.2-mile route, covering the BPA Trail and city streets, including a scheduled break at the Fred Meyer Shopping Center in Twin Lakes. Police will help lead the ride, which is intended for all ages (children under age 15 should be accompanied by parents). All participants must wear a helmet and sign a release form.
