A two-vehicle collision on June 5 in an unincorporated King County neighborhood near Auburn and Federal Way left a 76-year-old man and 18-year-old girl with life-threatening injuries.
According to the King County Sheriff’s Office, a 15-year-old girl driving southbound on 46th Avenue South in a residential area sped through a stop sign and crashed into the driver’s side of a 76-year-old man’s truck. The truck rolled over and back onto its wheels as a result of the impact.
First responders transported the 76-year-old man, and two passengers of the 15-year-old’s vehicle — an 18-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries and an injured 14-year-old girl — to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
According to the sheriff’s office, the 15-year-old driver showed signs of impairment, and police obtained a blood warrant.
The Sheriff’s Office’s Major Accident Response and Reconstruction unit continues to investigate the collision.
