More than 100 volunteers helped at Twin Lakes Elementary School’s first Clean Up Campus Day on June 11. Twin Lakes Principal Marin Miller teamed with Federal Way’s Grace Church to organize the event.

Work included resurfacing the track, beauty bark around brush, removing chains, adding a sandbox, weeding and the creation of a community garden, among other things. Twin Lakes Elementary School fifth-grader Chloe Wilhelm put some touchups on a mural she designed for the school.

“I was truly thankful for the phenomenal display of school spirit we had at Clean Up Twin Lakes Day,” Miller said. “The hours of work make it clear that Twin Lakes has an outstanding staff and community dedicated to supporting our students.”
