City of Federal Way to host free recycling event

The city will host a free one-stop recycling event between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20 in the Wild Waves Parking Lot at 36201 Enchanted Parkway S.

The city will host a free one-stop recycling event between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20 in the Wild Waves Parking Lot at 36201 Enchanted Parkway S.

Residents can drop off a variety of bulky or difficult-to-recycle items such as appliances, scrap metal, branches, tires, mattresses, fluorescent tubes, Styrofoam and confidential documents for recycling. Note that this is the last event that car seats will be accepted for reuse or recycling.

The recycling event is intended for residential quantities. Vendors at the event reserve the right to reject any items that do not meet standards.

The city of Federal Way funds this event with grants from King County Solid Waste Division, the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program in King County and Washington State Department of Ecology.
