Narcotics: Two individuals were stopped in separate incidents for using or possessing narcotics in public. One occurred at 3 a.m. near the 31500 block of Pete von Reichbauer Way South, and the other at 8 a.m. near the 30700 block of 16th Avenue Southwest.
March 28
There were at least 3 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 4 vehicles were recovered.
Delivery driver steals package: After delivering a grocery order to the victim’s home, a suspect then stole a package from the victim while the designated grocery deliverer waited in the car. The suspect is captured on a home security system and the victim is also connecting with the grocery delivery service to locate the half of the pair that is associated with the grocery order.
March 29
There were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 1 vehicle was recovered.
Truck stolen: A vehicle with black rims and “testicles” under the vehicle was stolen at approximately 3 p.m. near the 32500 block of Pacific Highway South.
Bus driver assaulted: At approximately 7:20 p.m., an officer responded to a report of an assault against a Sound Transit bus driver. The incident occurred near the 31600 block of 23rd Avenue South. The suspect description matched the description of another assault earlier that day on a different bus.
March 30
There were at least 5 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 4 vehicles were recovered.
Stolen car: At approximately 4 a.m. Federal Way officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle. An individual fled the vehicle and upon inspection, officers determined probable cause for obscuring the identity of the machine and of obstruction. The suspect was arrested for both and the vehicle was determined to be stolen.
March 31
There were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 2 vehicles were recovered.
Impounded vehicle stolen: At approximately 10 a.m., unidentified subjects cut through barbed wire and a gate lock in order to steal a vehicle that had previously been impounded by Des Moines Police.
April 1
There were at least 3 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 2 vehicles were recovered.
Two gas station robberies: At approximately 5 a.m., an attempted robbery occurred involving a firearm at a gas station near the 34000 block of Hoyt Road South. Report notes state the would-be robber “appeared frightened” and ran off to a getaway vehicle that was waiting nearby before acquiring any money from the employee after threatening them with a gun. Eight minutes later another robbery occurred at a different gas station located near the 33800 block of 1st Way South. It is not clear whether these incidents were connected.
Parking lot assault: A woman was assaulted at approximately 3 p.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 35700 block of 16th Avenue South. She was transported to a nearby hospital. The suspect is a stranger to the victim.
Card skimmer found: Walmart alerted police that at around 8 p.m., they discovered a device used to steal credit card information on one of their checkout machines. They identified the suspect who placed the device via security camera footage, and loss prevention staff estimate that approximately 20 transactions occurred before the device was discovered.
Handgun lost: An individual called police to report that he believes his handgun fell out of his coat pocket while riding his motorcycle sometime in the last few weeks.
April 2
There were at least 5 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 4 vehicles were recovered.
Roommate rampage: An individual who shares a house with four other roommates caused an estimated $50,000 in damage on what the report referred to as a rampage. They were arrested and booked. The individual damaged windows, doors, furniture, exercise equipment, kitchen utilities and more.
House fire: Police assisted South King Fire in responding to a house fire at approximately 2 p.m. near the 37100 block of 4th Avenue Southwest. Two households were displaced. and one home was completely lost and the other was damaged. Two dogs could not be rescued.
