Burglar makes own doggie door at Twin Lakes Veterinary Hospital

Surveillance video shows suspect breaking into Federal Way business.

The Twin Lakes Veterinary Hospital in Federal Way was broken into after a man threw a rock through the front door’s glass.

The incident occurred Sept. 19 at the veterinary hospital, 1060 SW 320th St. An unknown suspect broke the front door glass and crawled through, but the man did not steal anything, according to a police report obtained from a Federal Way Police Department public records request.

An employee spoke to a police officer at about 7:30 a.m. and said that when they arrived to work, they noticed the glass on the business’s front door was shattered and there was a large rock on the floor near the entrance of the lobby, according to the report.

The employee told the officer they noticed several drawers in the lobby had been gone through, but nothing appeared to have been taken, and nowhere else inside the building was accessed.

The officer reviewed surveillance footage, which showed a man arriving at about 3:44 a.m.

After arriving, the man attempted to use a rock to break the window, but was unsuccessful. The man then returned with a bigger rock about eight minutes later and used it to break the glass on the bottom half of the front door. After breaking the glass, the man created a convenient doggie-door-esque entrance that he crawled through, gaining access to the building. The report states that the man fled in a dark-colored Ford Explorer with a missing front license plate.
