Fatal shooting: At about 6:45 p.m. near the 2200 block of South Starlake Road, a shooting was reported at the Avana Apartments. Medics transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center, however, the victim died while en route to the hospital.
Ex-employee runs up tab: At about 2:55 p.m. near the 33500 block of 1st Avenue South, a security supervisor at Virginia Mason Seattle Main campus noticed an inordinate amount of taxi vouchers being used. The security supervisor discovered that a now ex–employee was using them as her personal Uber. The total value of vouchers was close to $4,000.
Dine-and-dash at Denny’s: At about 3:16 a.m. near the 34700 block of 16th Avenue South, four people dined and dashed from Denny’s. The bill was $74.65 and the people reportedly fled in a stolen vehicle.
April 1

Storefront smash: At about 1:42 a.m. near the 34000 block of Hoyt Road SW, two masked subjects were seen ramming their vehicle through the front door of a store. They entered the location but fled shortly after.
Convincing cash grab: At about 5:10 p.m. near the 31400 block of Pacific Highway South, the manager of the Elephant Car Wash reported that a female suspect pretended to know the manager and convinced a new cashier at the car wash to give her $293 for a purported racial slur made by another employee. The suspect said an employee told her the payment was supposed to prevent the suspect from posting about the slur on social media. The cashier, not knowing any better, handed over the cash. The suspect left the scene in a 2000s Chevy Tahoe.
April 2

Boy injured in shooting: At about 9:40 p.m. near the 1700 block of SW 309th Street, officers responded to a shooting. The victim was a 3-year-old boy. According to the boy’s parents, the shot came from the upstairs neighboring apartment. A male suspect was later arrested.
April 3

Drive-by shooting: At about 9:29 p.m. near the 2800 block of SW 340th Place, a drive-by shooting occurred at a two-story home. Five victims were inside the home. Police investigation indicated that two female victims were possibly targeted by an ex0-boyfriend. The shooter(s) were not located or identified.
April 4

Window whacked: At about 9:15 p.m. near the 1600 block of South 308th Street, a person called to report that his mother took a golf club and smashed the rear window of his vehicle. The mother reportedly left on foot.
