Bad driving: At about 9 a.m. near the 1100 block of SW 356th Street, a driver merged into a second lane, causing the car in the second to drive off the road and into a fence.
Car break-in: At about 9 a.m. near the 37400 block of 19th Place South, a person’s car was broken into and a garage opener controller was stolen. A neighbor’s security camera recorded the incident.
July 13
There were at least 3 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.
Stolen purse, pursuit: At about 4 p.m. near the 31000 block of Pacific Highway South, a woman told police that a suspect came up behind her and ripped her purse off of her. The suspect ran away and fled in a white sedan. Officers later located the vehicle and a pursuit was authorized.
Boyfriend assaulted: At about 8 p.m. near the 500 block of SW Campus Drive, a person called the police to report that his boyfriend had assaulted him while they were drinking in a wooded area near Panther Lake Tail. The boyfriend was taken into custody and booked into jail.
July 14
There were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.
DUI driver: At about 3:08 a.m. near the 29000 block of 17th Place South, a driver drove their vehicle into a building. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence.
Barbecue starts blaze: At about 7:30 p.m. near the 34700 block of 26th Place SW, offices responded to a house fire. The fire started from an explosion with a propane tank attached to the barbecue.
July 15
There were at least 8 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.
Business break-in: At about 1:23 a.m. near the 32000 block of 23rd Avenue South, three unknown kids in two cars broke into a vape business and stole merchandise. One car was left behind and it was found to be stolen.
July 16
There were at least 8 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.
Baseball bat assault: At about 9 a.m. near the 34200 block of 18th Place South, a man used a baseball bat to damage a neighbor’s window and two mirrors on two different vehicles. The incident was captured on security footage. The man was given a citation and dropped off at the hospital for evaluation.
Firearm pointed: At about 1:25 p.m. near the 35900 block of 16th Avenue South, a man was repossessing a vehicle when another man at the residence pointed a firearm at him.
Weapons threat: At about 1:43 p.m. near the 28800 block of Military Road South, officers responded to the Brickyard Pub for threats with a weapon. No suspects or victims were located when police arrived.
