Men assaulted: At 1:22 a.m. Nov. 23 in the 33000 block of Pacific Highway South, two men were bar-hopping in the area when they got into an argument with two strangers while they were walking from bar to bar. The argument resulted in one of the men being punched in the face, and the report notes the two victims indicated they believed their attackers also had a gun.

Counterfeit bill: At 8:33 a.m. Nov. 24 in the 34000 block of 16th Avenue South, a restaurant reported that two customers paid for their meal with a counterfeit $50 bill.

Car stolen: At 9:11 a.m. Nov. 24 in the 1100 block of South 299th Place, a man reported his car had been stolen. According to the report, “no suspect was seen driving, though”, as the victim watched his vehicle driving out of the area.

Fender bender at red light: At 9:49 a.m. Nov. 24 in the 28000 block of Pacific Highway South, a man rear-ended another vehicle stopped at a red light. According to the report, the suspect fled the scene without exchanging information with the other driver. A check of the suspect revealed he was driving on a suspended license.

Dog bites child: At 3:27 p.m. Nov. 24 in the 30000 block of Military Road South, it was reported that a dog bit a 5-year-old child. According to the report, the dog was transported and will be quarantined at the Tacoma Humane Society for the next 15 days.

Juvenile thief caught: At 5:18 p.m. Nov. 24 in the 1900 block of South Commons, a juvenile was detained for attempting to steal a shirt from a popular retailer. According to the report, the juvenile also admitted to stealing a pair of earrings from another retailer. The property was returned to the retailers, and the juvenile was returned to her mother.

Car stolen: At 7:55 p.m. Nov. 24 in the 34000 block of 16th Avenue South, a man reported his vehicle was stolen while he shopped in a grocery store.

Purse stolen: At 10:18 p.m. Nov. 24 in the 33000 block of Pacific Highway South, unknown suspects broke into the victim’s car and stole her purse. According to the report, the suspects gained entry by smashing one of the vehicle’s windows with “a bat or similar blunt object.” The report notes the car prowl took place while the victim was sitting in an eatery for a couple of hours.

Disorderly man arrested for warrants: At 10:11 a.m. Nov. 23 in the 31000 block of Pacific Highway South, a man was being disorderly in a fast food restaurant. Police arrived and notified the man he was being permanently trespassed from the premises. The report notes the man had two active warrants, and was placed under arrest and transported to the SCORE jail.

Shoplifter popped on warrants: At 7:52 p.m. Nov. 23 in the 1900 block of South 314th Street, a man was detained for attempting to steal approximately $200 in merchandise from a retailer. The report notes a background check of the man came back with active warrants, at which time the man was placed under arrest and booked in the SCORE jail.
