Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:
• Motorcyclist issued DUI: At 2:10 a.m. June 22 in the 28200 block of Military Road, an officer observed a man crash on a motorcycle. The subject was given a field sobriety test which indicated he was drunk. The man was issued a DUI and arrested.
• Pawn shop theft: At 4:57 p.m. June 20 at 33012 Pacific Highway South, a male stole a ring valued at $5,000 from the Pawn Exchange.
• Aggressive driver: At 2:19 a.m. June 20 at 2400 S.W. 336th St., police responded to Jack in the Box, where a victim reported a vehicle collision. The victim was in a vehicle at the drive-through when a car behind him or her slowly collided into the victim’s bumper. The driver of the second vehicle yelled “That was only a love tap” before pulling forward and colliding with the first vehicle a second time.
• Stolen diamond ring: At 7:38 p.m. June 21 in the 2100 block of South 336th St., a complainant reported that a person broke into a vehicle and stole a diamond ring from the vehicle’s center console. The ring was valued at $400.
• Swiped seats: At 6:22 a.m. June 21 in the 30800 block of 21st Avenue Southwest, a victim reported that overnight two front seats were stolen from his or her vehicle. The vehicle’s vinyl cover was also slashed. Damages are estimated at $7,000.
• Residential burglary: At 8:46 a.m. June 22 in the 30100 block of 29th Avenue South, it was reported that an unknown suspect gained entry into a home through an unlocked bedroom window on the basement level. The suspect stole electronics.
• Naughty photos: At 9:28 p.m. June 23 in the 3700 block of Southwest 332nd Place, a complainant called to report finding sexually explicit photos of his or her daughter on the Internet. The daughter admitted to posting the photos for the purpose of prostitution.
• Counterfeit: At 7:35 p.m. June 23 at 1634 S. 312th St., an unknown female paid for her meal with a counterfeit $100 bill. The complainant waited to report the bill because he or she was unsure if it was fake. The bill lacked security features and had a watermark portrait of Abraham Lincoln, rather than Ben Franklin.
• Stolen mail: At 4:21 p.m. June 23 in the 33500 block of 13th Place South, subjects stole mail from a daycare center’s mailbox. The mail included a check for $382.80.
• Prescription fraud: At 8:16 a.m. June 23 in the 34600 block of 11th Place South, a doctor reported that he believes six prescriptions that had been processed by an insurance company were fraudulent. The prescriptions featured the doctor’s name and DEA number.
