Bank damaged: An unknown suspect damaged the “tube” system at a bank in the 33600 block of Pacific Highway S, causing about $5,000 in damage.
Attempted scissors attack: An officer at the Federal Way transit center was flagged down by a bus rider who reported having just been chased down by a woman wielding scissors. The woman was located and arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault.
July 27
There were at least 11 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.
Domestic assault: An officer responded the previous day to a physical assault at the 800 block of 310th place, where a man had reportedly strangulated one family member and assaulted another person. Probable cause for his arrest was established.
Drive-by Shooting: Officers responded to the 27900 block of Pacific Highway S around 2:30 to 3 a.m., where a drive-by shooting occurred. The suspects couldn’t be located.
Armed robbery: Officers responded to an armed robbery at Winco in the 100 block of SW Campus Drive, where employees said they’d stopped a shoplifted who pointed a gun at them around 5:20 a.m.
July 28
There were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.
Tools stolen: The reporting party said that after parking his work truck in the parking lot of the Marriott at the 31900 block of S Gateway Center Boulevard, someone overnight picked the locks to the toolboxes on the truck, taking high end tools totaling around $60,000 in value.
July 29
There were at least 10 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.
Car-jacking: Officers were flagged down at around 10:08 a.m. in the 28800 block of Pacific Highway S for an in-progress car-jacking. The suspects fled.
Commercial burglary: An unknown man reportedly entered a business in the 33100 block of Pacific Highway S overnight by picking a lock, and stole two iPhones and four tablets.
Attempted strongarm robbery: A woman shopping at the 34500 block of 16th Ave S Walmart in the mid-afternoon reported a man approached her as she was leaving the store and tried to grab her purse. The suspect pulled so hard that he brought the victim to the ground, causing her to sustain multiple abrasions; he was unable to take the purse, however, and fled in a silver vehicle. He also appeared to accidentally leave behind a card identifying himself.
Robbery: Two brothers shopping at the 1900 block SW Campus Drive Safeway at 7:30 p.m. reported they were approached by a black Kia with multiple teenagers inside as they were walking home. The brothers were robbed of their cell phones and the snacks they’d just purchased.
July 30

Burglary: An unknown suspect wearing a mask and hood entered a building in the 35200 block of Enchanted Parkway S using a screwdriver and stole two laptops around 2 to 2:30 a.m.
July 31
There were at least 9 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.
Robbery: A number of victims reported being robbed at gunpoint by two suspects in the early morning hours in the 31600 block of Pete Von Reichbauer Way S. The suspects fled in a silver sedan.
Robbery: Officers responded to a complain of a car-jacking with a firearm in the early morning hours in the 28600 block of Pacific Highway S. The vehicle was recovered in Burien at a pawn shop.
Car-jacking: An emergency caller reported that around 2:09 a.m. in the 28600 block of Pacific Highway S, about two hours after the previous blotter entry, his vehicle was also stolen from him at gunpoint.
Drive-by shooting: Officers responded to a drive-by shooting around 2:50 a.m. near S 288th Place and 27th Place S.
Burglaries: Officers responded to burglaries at the Sleep Number building at The Commons Mall, Secoma Lanes, a T-Mobile business in the 34800 block of Pacific Highway S, Angelica’s Restaurant, Wild Waves, and a business at the 1600 block of S 324th Street. They found reason to believe at least some of the burglaries were connected.
August 1
There were at least 11 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.
Firearm assault: An emergency caller in the 35700 block of 16th Ave S reported that around 3:17 a.m., someone shot into his apartment.
Commercial burglary: A smoke shop in the 32900 block of 1st Ave S was burglarized at some point overnight.
Burglary: A caller reported that an office building in the 400 block of SW Campus Drive was broken into; a projector and two pad locks were taken, and a filing cabinet was damaged.
