The following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:
Robbery at gunpoint: At 1:35 a.m. on Dec. 7 at 32124 25th Ave. S., an unknown male entered the Best Western lobby and produced a handgun and a plastic bag. The male demanded the clerk give him the business’ money. The suspect then jumped over the counter, pushed the clerk and took approximately $200 in cash before fleeing the business.
Suspect linked to several armed robberies: At 3:57 a.m. on Dec. 7 at 32935 First Ave. S., police responded to a robbery report. After an investigation, police determined a suspect entered the store and, while pointing a handgun at the clerk, he took money out of the cash register. This suspect matches the suspect to several other armed robberies in Federal Way and other nearby cities, according to the report.
Residents find bullet hole in bedroom window: At 9:23 a.m. on Dec. 7 in the 33200 block of 39th Ave. SW, residents called police after they located a possible bullet hole in their master bedroom window that pierced through their blinds. They did not hear any shots fired that night and said it’s possible it happened earlier on Dec. 6 before they came home.
The hole was small and possibly a small caliber or an Airsoft gun, police noted. They did not locate any bullet inside the bedroom. The neighbor said he or she did not hear or see anything.
Suspect steals e-cigarettes display: At 7:27 p.m. on Dec. 7 at 104 SW 312th St., police responded to a theft report. The reporting party advised police that an unidentified black male wearing a grey sweatshirt and blue jeans stole a display of e-cigarettes, worth $400. The victim provided the police officer with the surveillance footage but the victim was unable to ID the suspect. The officer canvassed the area for items of evidentiary value but was met with negative results. Police closed the case pending further leads.
Woman believes neighbor using drone to spy on her: At 8 p.m. on Dec. 7 in the 29600 block of Third Place S., a woman called to report her neighbor was flying a drone in the area and she believed it was harassment. She reported a man who lives nearby has flown the drone in the past and she, along with some other neighbors, believe he was doing it just to upset the neighbors and possibly to spy on them. On this date, she was smoking in her backyard when the drone hovered above her neighbor’s yard to the north.
Police respond to suicide at park: At 9:33 p.m. on Dec. 7 at 1095 S. 324th St., police responded to a 911 call of a shooting at Celebration Park. They found a male unresponsive in his vehicle with a gunshot wound to his head. The King County Medical Examiner’s office responded and removed the male.
Man waves gun outside of pub: At 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 6 at 28845 Military Road S., witnesses in the Brickyard Pub reported a male was waving a gun around in the parking lot, scaring bar patrons. Upon police arrival, the male left the parking lot in a vehicle. Officers stopped him, took him into custody without incident and booked him into SCORE jail. He faces charges for DUI and for possessing weapons capable of producing bodily harm. Police seized a knife, handgun and 40 caliber ammunition.
Suspect steals gifts while man at hospital: At 1:46 a.m. on Dec. 4 in the 28000 block of 15th Ave. S., a man reported that someone stole his 60-inch TV worth $2,000, some jewelry worth over $3,000 and gifts from his house between Dec. 3-4. The items were stolen while the man was away at the hospital.
Mom reports apartment staff videotaped kids eating dog treats: At 11:28 a.m. on Dec. 4 in the 35000 block of 25th Ave. SW, a parent reported the possible assault or abuse of her 8-year-old and other children. Her child informed her that a staff member at their apartment complex gave her child and other kids dog food “doggie treats” and videotaped them eating the items. The investigation is ongoing.
Father grabs gun, threatens to kill his kids: At 6:06 p.m. on Dec. 4 in the 1000 block of SW 316th Place, a father and son were involved in a verbal argument that turned physical when the father retrieved a pistol and threatened to kill both of his kids. The father was booked into jail for fourth-degree assault and threats to kill.
Man breaks drive-thru window with traffic cone: At 11:17 p.m. on Dec. 4 at 2216 S. 320th St., a man used a traffic cone to break the drive-thru window at Wendy’s. He then reached inside and stole a cell phone. He was arrested for third-degree theft.
