Todd Beamer High School Air Force JROTC cadets Joshua Larson and Tyler Snyder have been selected to attend a weeklong Aerospace and Technology Honors Camp this summer at the University of New Mexico. They will be joined by Federal Way High School AFJROTC cadet Isaac Wani. All three were selected by a board of Air Force officers, and they represent one-half of one percent of the 110,0000 AFJROTC cadets worldwide. Cadet Larson will attend the Medical Honors Camp while Snyder and Wani will participate in the Aerospace Honors Camp. The U.S. Air Force pays all expenses for the cadets for the week, including travel.

The objective of the Aerospace and Technology Honors Camp is to introduce high-achieving high school cadets to medical, scientific, technical and flying careers through a hands-on curriculum. That includes visits to college campuses, air campuses, air and space operational units, research labs, medical facilities, historical sites, aerospace industries, research and technology centers, and museums. Cadets will hear presentations by general officers, astronauts, pilots, nurses and physicians. A special highlight of these camps: Each cadet will participate in an incentive flight.
