Kohl’s is set to open the doors to its new, 60,000-square-foot retail location in Federal Way at 9 a.m., Friday, March 7.
The new store is located at 2101 S. Commons Way and will be managed by Rochelle Ocken. The new store, Kohl’s 19th in Washington state, is bringing 125 jobs to Federal Way and will provide customers with “new enhancements and the company’s latest store design to provide customers with a fresh, exciting and convenient shopping experience.”
According to a press release from Kohl’s, these new enhancements include updated checkout stations, newly designed shopping carts and strollers, redesigned fitting rooms and beauty department, fitting room lounges in misses and juniors, an expanded customer service area located at the front of the store, in-store “Kohl’s Kiosks,” electronic signs in all departments and free Wi-Fi throughout the store.
The new Federal Way store, according to Kohl’s, “was constructed with the environment in mind.” Some of the environmentally friendly design elements include “careful waste management to recycle construction materials, occupancy sensor lighting for stockrooms, dressing rooms, break rooms and offices, energy management systems to control heating and cooling systems and a recycling program for cardboard boxes, hangers and packaging.”
