Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

• Open phone line reveals dangerous situation: At 4:20 p.m. June 10 in the 1900 block of SW Campus Drive, police responded to a possible domestic violence call. According to the report, when the victim contacted 911, the line stayed open and the dispatcher could hear the victim asking her attacker “You gonna kill me now?” and also saying “Go ahead and kill me.” Upon police arrival, the woman stated the suspect had choked her. The suspect fled the scene before police arrival.

• Paying for sex: At 10:39 p.m. June 10 in the 1700 block of South 305th Place, a man agreed to pay $50 to have sex with a girl. According to the report, the deal was setup through an online chat site. When the man arrived at an apartment to have sex, the girl took his $50 and ran away. Another woman then came out and threatened the man with a knife. The man disarmed the woman and left the scene. The report notes the suspect was booked into King County Juvenile for prostitution.

• Hit and run: At 1:10 a.m. June 10 in the 1700 block of SW 309th Street, a driver struck a car with his vehicle and then left the scene. According to the report, police located the driver nearby and found he was drunk. The driver was booked for DUI.

• Crazy customer: At 12:48 a.m. June 10 in the 28000 block of Military Road South, a man was asked to leave a Safeway store because he was cussing and yelling at employees. According to the report, the man was escorted outside, where he continued his tirade and physically assaulted two employees in the parking lot.

• Dog bite: At 1:13 p.m. June 10 in the 3500 block of SW 325th Street, police responded to a dog bite call. According to the report, a family was walking their pit bull when it got off leash and ran toward another man. The man attempted to keep the dog at bay using his hands, at which point, the dog bit his hand.

• Look suspicious, get busted for a warrant: At 4:42 p.m. June 10 in the 3400 block of SW 320th Street, police responded to reports of a suspicious looking man peering into windows of closed businesses. According to the report, when police ran a background check on the man, he came back with an outstanding warrant for driving with a suspended license. He was arrested and booked.

• Kids and BB guns: At 6:54 p.m. June 10 in the 1300 block of SW 328th Court, a man reported that two windows in his home had been broken out. According to the report, there is a wooded area that looks onto his property, and the man believed some kids playing with BB guns in the wooded area may have been responsible for the broken windows.

• Wannabe booze bandit capitulates: At 11:52 a.m. June 9 in the 31000 block of Pacific Highway South, the suspect attempted to steal two bottles of alcohol valued at approximately $70. According to the report, a Loss Prevention Officer in the store confronted the suspect, and the suspect admitted the attempted theft. The suspect handed over the bottles of booze. The report notes the suspect had left the area by the time of police arrival.

• Cigarette lands man in jail: At 6:33 p.m. June 9 in the 31000 block of 23rd Avenue South, police contacted a man who was smoking on Transit Center property, which is prohibited. According to the report, a background check found an outstanding warrant from Des Moines for the man. The man was arrested and transferred over to Des Moines police.

• Man assaulted over iPod: At 9:50 p.m. June 9 in the 100 block of SW 312th Street, a man’s girlfriend contacted 911 attempting to get the man medical treatment. According to the report, the man was jumped and robbed of his iPod Touch. The man said he was aware of who his attackers probably were, but refused to cooperate with police any further.
