A 67-year-old man died early Tuesday morning from a vehicular hit and run in Federal Way, police say.

Around 1:40 a.m., a passerby reported a man lying in the roadway near the 1100 block of SW Dash Point Road with a serious head injury, according to Cmdr. Kurt Schwan with Federal Way police.

“It appears the male was struck by a vehicle [and] sustained fatal injuries,” Schwan noted.

The involved vehicle fled the scene and police do not have suspect information at this time.

Federal Way’s Major Accident Investigation Team is conducting the investigation.
