The following is a sample from the Federal Way police public information log:
• At 9:26 p.m. Sept. 30 in the 31100 block of Pacific Highway South, officers responded to an assault call in which a female reported she was punched in the face by a male friend when she refused to go on a date with the man. The victim suffered a swollen lip and bloody nose.
• At 5:38 p.m. Oct. 1 in the 34400 block of 25th Avenue Southwest, police were called to assist in a medical call. A man at the scene was observed yelling and disputing with firefighters while they attempted to treat another injured man.
• At 8:49 p.m. Oct. 1 at 1800 S. 320th St., a victim refused to serve a customer who was observed staggering and slurring his speech. The suspect yelled at the victim, cursed at her and threatened to return to the establishment with a knife.
• At 9:14 a.m. Sept. 30 at 32527 35th Ave. S.W., officers responded to a residence where a juvenile male was lying down in the victim’s backyard. He juvenile was arrested for trespassing.
• At 12:12 p.m. Sept. 30 at 30611 16th Ave. S., it was reported that an unknown suspect painted gang graffiti on the walls of the school’s girls’ bathroom.
• At 1:12 p.m. Sept. 30 at 30400 Pacific Highway S., a City of Federal Way employee brought a black suitcase, found in a grassy area, to the police station. Personal items and paperwork were found inside. Police attempted to contact the owner of the briefcase, but the number listed for the person was not a working number. The briefcase was booked for safekeeping.
• At 8:10 a.m. Sept. 29 at 33914 19th Ave. S.W., a woman lost her purse with her credit card inside. By the time she reported the loss, an unknown suspect had charged gas and $493 worth of merchandise at a retail electronics store. The credit card had the victim’s photo on it and when she spoke with a manager at the retail chain, the person reported it is not the company’s policy to check identification on a credit card purchase.
• At 9:47 a.m. Sept. 29 in the 37100 block of 2nd Avenue Southwest, a complainant reported he was contacted about being a co-signer on a student loan in the amount of $23,100. He said he did not sign a contract to serve as a co-signer, nor did he give permission to anyone to use his name or personal information to obtain the loan. He reported the loan belonged to a person he dated several months ago. Police told the man the incident could not be investigated without a copy of the original loan contract.
• At 6:30 p.m. Sept. 29 in the 2400 block of Southwest 306th Place, a man called police to complain about his neighbor parking a truck on the street. This was not the first time police responded to a call of this nature at this location.
