Three new Federal Way police officers were sworn in during the City Council meeting on April 21.
Officer Michael Henrich grew up in Black Diamond and was previously employed as an assistant with the Maple Valley Parks Department. He has served as a volunteer firefighter and as a reserve police officer with the Black Diamond Police Department. Henrich was hired in August and graduated from the basic police academy on April 1.
Officer Lee Price was born in Michigan and he is a veteran of the United States Navy. Price comes to Federal Way as a lateral police officer after serving with the Seguin Police Department (in Texas near San Antonio) since 2010. He has an associate degree and is a certified sign language interpreter. Price was hired in February and attended the Washington State Equivalency Academy this week.
Officer Anders Wiggum grew up in Issaquah and graduated from Washington State University with a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice. He joined the U.S. Marines as an air support control officer and attained the rank of captain, serving one deployment in Afghanistan. Wiggum also has his pilot’s license for single engine aircraft. He was hired on Aug. 1 and graduated from the basic police academy in March.
