2013 fireworks in Federal Way: All you need to know

Federal Way is sponsoring the annual Red, White and Blues Festival on July 4 at Celebration Park. A free 22-minute professional fireworks show begins at 10:15 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.

Setting off fireworks is illegal within Federal Way city limits.

Infractions range from a $100 penalty for the first offense, a $200 penalty for the second offense, and a $300 penalty for the third offense. Police will also confiscate fireworks in all cases.

In unincorporated King County, fireworks may be discharged from 9 a.m. to midnight on July 4 only. Fireworks sales were legal beginning June 28, and can be purchased through July 4. Those purchasing fireworks must be at least age 16 with a picture ID.

Red, White and Blues schedule

The festival’s entertainment begins at 4 p.m. Celebration Park is located at 1095 South 324th Street. There is a $7 charge for parking on-site, which opens at 3 p.m.

In addition to food vendors, there is plenty of entertainment for all ages.

Main stage

• 4 to 6 p.m.: International Performances. International Entertainer’s Emcee: Amita Singh. Check out two hours of international-themed performances, including salsa music, Polynesian music, dance and drumming and martial arts demonstrations.

• 6 p.m.: Emcee – Roberto the Magnificent

• 6 to 7 p.m.: Michelle Taylor & The Blues Junkies (Blues)

• 7 to 7:15 p.m.: Mayor’s Address/Introduction of Elected Officials

• 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.: Randy Hansen (Classic Rock/Jimi Hendrix Tribute Band)

• 9 to 10 p.m.: Dance Factory (Disco)

• 10:15 p.m.: Fireworks
