2 contestants advance to finals in Federal Way’s Got Talent

The annual competition is held at the Federal Way Farmers Market.

Several contestants competed in the first round of the Federal Way’s Got Talent on June 3 at the Federal Way Farmers Market. The contestants were Sister Daisson, Lamont Atkinsons, Sienna Ortiz, Ilona Tabunscic, Rediet Kalaly and Jess Mackey.

Ilona Taabunscic and Jess Mackey advanced to the final round held Saturday, Sept. 2. There will be two contestants from both the July and August contests also moving forward to September.

The performance with the highest score from the September performance will win $500 from the Talent Show sponsor, Vickie Chynoweth Realtor, KWPS, and sing at the Taste of Federal Way.

Jess Mackey sang, “Lie Out Loud” from the musical “The Little Princess.”

Ilona Tabunscic sang “On My Knees” by Jaci Valasquez.

Lamont Atkinsons – DJ Rez sang “Wake Me Up” by Avicii, sung by Aloe Blacc.

Sienna Ortiz, was the competition fill-in with amazing hula hoop skills.

Sister Daisson, a missionary from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sang “Peace in Christ” by Nik Day.

Rediet Kalaly, the youngest contestant at 7 years old, sang “Thank You Lord” by Chris Tomlin.

There are currently three contestant openings for the July 1 round. Acts can sign up on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Federal Way Farmers Market located behind The Commons mall.
