A 19-year-old man is dead from gunshot wounds after he was found laying in a parking lot at the Crystal Pointe Apartments in Federal Way on Thursday night.

Detectives identified the victim as Erik Raul Reynaga of Auburn. Officers believe he was staying at the apartment complex temporarily.

Police responded at 8 p.m. to shots fired at the complex, located at 35328 25th Ave. SW. They found several casings in the immediate and surrounding areas.

The male was located next to a car in the apartment complex parking lot near building 9. Police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock said officers have yet to identify the male but he is believed to be 19 years old.

While there’s no suspect information at this time, Schrock said officers were actively talking to residents and it appears there was a dispute of some kind.

Detectives remained on scene through 10 a.m. Friday, interviewing witnesses and residents of the complex.
