Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:
• Lewd text: At 2:02 p.m. Dec. 18 in the 1900 block of Southwest Campus Drive, a father reported his 14-year-old daughter received a picture of a male’s genitals via text message.
• Big-time burglary: At 8:28 p.m. Dec. 17 in the 3300 block of Southwest 320th Street, a victim returning from a lengthy vacation reported a residential burglary. Approximately $16,387 worth of property was stolen from the residence.
• Violent shoplifter: At 6:39 p.m. Dec. 17 at 1900 S. 314th St., a suspect shoplifted items amounting to $54.92 from Wal-Mart. The suspect punched a loss prevention employee during the incident.
• Purse snatching: At 4:55 p.m. Dec. 17 at 31217 Pacific Highway S., a woman’s purse was snatched by two males in the H-Mart parking lot.
• Possession of stolen property: At 3:35 p.m. Dec. 17 in the 2200 block of South Star Lake Road, suspects were contacted. They were in possession of stolen mail, credit cards and tools from victims in Federal Way, Tacoma and Des Moines.
• Gift card crackdown: At 2:57 p.m. Dec. 9 at 34520 16th Ave. S., a subject attempted to fraudulently purchase $3,000 worth of gift cards from Wal-Mart. The credit card associated with the transaction was stolen.
• Threats: At 1:09 a.m. Dec. 17 in the 34700 block of 21st Avenue Southwest, police responded to threats made by a victim’s boyfriend. The suspect threatened to drive to the victim’s home and shoot the victim’s family. The suspect arrived on location, but no weapon was found.
• Angry mother: At 2:58 p.m. Dec. 18 in the 30900 block of 17th Avenue Southwest, a victim reported his child’s mother arrived at his home and argued with him about custody issues, before damaging the victim’s tires with a knife.
