Brave New World is hosting a young musicians showcase at Todd Beamer High School, 5999 16th Ave S. on July 23 and 24.
The two-hour showcase will include 10 acts of young singers, rappers and musicians ranging from ages 13 to 22 from the Federal Way and Auburn areas who were discovered from the 2009 Brave New World talent search. A youth city-wide dance will follow the talent showcase each night. Friday will be an all-city middle school dance and Saturday will be an all-city high school dance. All musicians will perform both nights. The showcases are from 6 to 8 p.m. and the dances are from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the door or online at http://theshowcasefw.eventbrite.com. Participants are Dennis Engracia (Thomas Jefferson H.S.), Zhane Condly (Mount Rainier H.S.), Chloey Wilson (Federal Way H.S.) and the band In All Honesty with members Josh Kain (recent graduate of Thomas Jefferson H.S.), Andrew Vun, Camrin Bailey, Jayson Sloan (Thomas Jefferson H.S.), and Brett Kilneffer (Todd Beamer H.S.); middle school students Jasmine Parker (Federal Way Public Academy) and Maddi Blauser (Ilahee Middle School); as well as graduates Jamarkus “Mac Wookie” Springfield, Rollin Frank, and Elisa Rosin.
