Rosebud Children’s Theatre Conservatory (CTC) is wrapping up its third annual community theater production this weekend, with performances of “Inspecting Carol” running Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., and on Sunday at 2 p.m. The performances will take place at the Little Theater at Thomas Jefferson High School in Auburn.

“Inspecting Carol” is the tale of a struggling theater company attempting to put together their annual performance of A Christmas Carol. According to CTC, “a young actor is mistaken for an inspector from the National Endowments for the Arts, resulting in the most hilarious, disastrous ‘Christmas Carol’ ever!”

The show is local grown, originally written and performed in 1991 by Daniel Sullivan and the Seattle Repertory Theater. CTC features many local faces, including CTC founder and artistic director Holly Rose. Rose said audiences enjoyed CTC’s rendition of “Inspecting Carol” this past weekend.

“Our audiences throughout the first weekend gave us comments like ‘I couldn’t stop laughing’ (and) ‘I laughed so much I cried,’” she noted.

Other area talent that will be performing this weekend includes Jason Rose, Holly’s husband and a professor at DeVry University, along with Claudette Elliot, Daniel Wolf, Todd Glover, Mike Klein, Thomas Thompson, Phil Duncan, Laurie Sifford, Michelle Thompson and Danny Vogt. Sarah Bixler, described as “another veteran of local theatre” by CTC, is the director for this year’s showing.
