The Multicultural Book Group will discuss its latest book, “Whistling Past the Graveyard,” by Susan Crandall this month. The meeting is at 7 p.m. Feb. 14 at the 320th Federal Way Library.
Fleeing her strict grandmother’s Mississippi home in 1963, 9-year-old Starla Claudelle becomes the unlikely companion to an African-American woman at whose side she learns some harsh lessons about period segregation and family.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
