Federal Way Farmers Market: Every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through October at The Commons mall.

Burlington Store opening: The new store location’s ribbon cutting will be on Oct. 6 at The Commons mall before they open the doors for the first time at 8 a.m. The store will share some gifts and gift cards to customers that weekend and present a donation to a nearby school through AdoptAClassroom.org.

Fright Fest at Wild Waves begins: Starting on Oct. 6, visit Wild Waves to enjoy Fright Fest every weekend in October. Family-friendly fun is available during the day, and new Fright by Night activities are there for a scary good time for older guests in the evening.

The Soul of a Woman 4 benefit concert: Four musical artists are sharing tribute performances at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7 to benefit the Rivkin Center for ovarian and breast cancer research and to bring awareness to the impact of breast cancer in the Black community. The event will also feature live painting.

Indigenous People’s Day: Free lectures to celebrate Indigenous People’s Day from 10-11:50 a.m. Oct. 9 at Highline College’s main campus, Building 2, located at South 240th Street and Pacific Highway South in Des Moines.

Candidate forum: Ahead of the general election, the Federal Way Mirror invites readers to attend a candidates forum from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Federal Way High School theater. The forum will feature candidates for Federal Way School Board and candidates for Federal Way City Council. The forum will also be live-streamed on the Mirror’s Facebook page. Enchanté: Celebration of the Arts: Oct. 14 will begin with a festive reception at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center (PAEC), featuring a variety of hors d’oeuvres, hosted soft drinks, wine, beer and Prosecco bar, informal music and opportunities to donate to the Arts Foundation Federal Way, followed by the performance of smash hit, “Forbidden Broadway: The Second Generation,” in the PAEC theater at 8 p.m.

Phenomenal She Presents: An Evening of Elegance: On Oct. 14 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. featuring Keynote Speaker K.D Hall at the Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club, located at 3583 Southwest 320th Street.

Multi Service Center Luncheon: On Oct. 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. hear speaker Doug Baldwin, philanthropist and former Seahawk, at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center.

AYDEPI Volunteer Event: On Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., join African Young Dreamers Empowerment Programs International (AYDEPI) to take care of our local ecosystems and plant trees at Lake Geneva Park.
