“Legacy”

Our friend Dick Mayer understood the Book of James in the Holy Bible,

The eternal words: “Faith Without Work is Dead.”

He dedicated and committed his earthly life to community service,

Was thoughtfully gentle, in the caring words he said;

Because of his simple believing faith,

He now shares Heaven’s streets of gold,

With his beloved Sally and other Angels,

A promise that can’t be bought or sold;

Generous and overflowing in goodwill toward everyone,

A patient spirit of kindness and sweet hospitable charm and grace,

An embraceable, refreshing, humble personality,

Bringing smiles to every heart and face;

His passion and thirst “to serve” was contagious,

A heavenly visionary all in one,

A faith shared by fellow believers,

Father, Holy Spirit and Son;

His legacy in his heart was engraved in his integrity

Embracing others in the comfort of his happy face,

A warm greeting was his pillar watchword,

To enrich and encourage others of the human race;

His gift was to make others feel special,

A genuine good-hearted and caring man,

Giving to others a timely “help-up,”

With his healing words, “Yes you can! Yes you can!”

Our thoughts and praises are drawn in unison,

For the privilege we all agree today,

To have shared this life with this man of God,

Truly blessed he came our way.
