Kiwanis of Federal Way has announced the four recipients of the 2024 scholarship from Kiwanis Foundation of Federal Way, where each student receives $2,000 to go towards the college of their choice.
Ashlynn Lettice from Federal Way High School, Jaquel Jordan from Decatur High School, Caleb Hilden from Bonney Lake High School and Mackenzie Hatten from Decatur High School are this year’s scholarship recipients.
“We give these young people all our best wishes and scholarships as they begin their college journey!” said Karen Brugato, Scholarship Chairperson of Kiwanis Foundation of Federal Way.
Lettice, a Key Club member, will receive the “Dennis Hulse Memorial” Key Club Scholarship and plans on attending Washington State University to concentrate in Biology. The “Dennis Hulse Memorial” Key Club Scholarship is named after the late, long-standing and beloved member and past Kiwanis President. The Larson-Berntson Trade & Vocational Scholarship is named after past Kiwanis President Judge Dave Larson and his father, a long-standing Boeing engineer.
Jordan has received the Larson-Berntson Trade & Vocational Scholarship and she plans on attending Clover Park Technical College in Tacoma to receive her certificate as a Dental Hygienist.
Hilden, who reached Eagle Scout, will receive the “Dennis Hulse Memorial” Boy Scout Troop 307 Scholarship and he plans on attending University of Idaho with a major in Business Management.
Hatten received the Larson-Berntson Trade & Vocational Scholarship which she plans to use while attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Institute in Arizona to become an airline pilot.
