Award-winning singer Garrison Doles will present a free summer worship concert 7 p.m. Aug. 14 at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 345 S. 312th St., Federal Way. To learn more, call (253) 839-6100.

Self-described as “a broken shard of sea glass that has washed up on the beach,” Doles’s Christian faith has led him to a ministry of composing, singing with his own guitar accompaniment, and storytelling based on his life experiences. His compositions have led to several indie CDs and to high honors at numerous competitions in the East and Southeast.

Steve Gursky, legendary producer for Crosby, Stills and Nash, says Doles is “one of the most talented songwriters I’ve ever worked with,” according to a news release. “Never pass up a chance to see this master at work.”

Doles will be in the Northwest as a faculty member for the Grunewald Guild, a Christian community near Leavenworth which explores spiritual dimensions of various artistic disciplines.
