The Federal Way Chorale announced the 2024 recipients of the Don Barrows Memorial Scholarship award. Patrick Dunn and Lucy Amann will each receive $2,000 in scholarship funds to help further their musical educational pursuits.

Patrick Dunn is a graduating senior at Kennedy High School. He has pursued his interest in music thorough many avenues. He sings with his school choir, small group ensembles and is a longtime member of the Northwest Boychoir. Patrick also plays trombone in concert band. In 2024, he excelled in both performance areas, qualifying for trombone solo, brass duet and vocal tenor solo at the state solo and ensemble competitions. Patrick’s career choice is to become a choral director. He hopes to share the joy that he has found in singing as a chorister. Patrick will attend the University of Notre Dame in the fall.

Lucy Amann is a graduating senior at Federal Way High School, where she participates in many musical ventures. She sings soprano in concert, jazz and chamber choirs and is often featured as a soloist. Lucy loves acting and musical theater and has participated in many school performances. Her most recent role was as Donna in “Mamma Mia.” In addition to playing the lead character, Lucy used her dance experience to assist with the production’s choreography. Her dedication to musical theater has led her to perform multiple times with Tacoma Musical Playhouse and has garnered her acknowledgement from the International Thespian Society as well as regional and national theatre performance awards. A full-time career in musical theater is Lucy’s goal. She plans to attend Colorado Mesa University and pursue a degree in musical theater.
