The Federal Way Black Collective hosts their annual Juneteenth cookout Sunday, June 11, celebrating the historic holiday with good food and good company.
The free cookout runs from 1 to 5 p.m. at Town Square Park (31600 Pete von Reichbauer Way S). The event will spotlight Black-owned companies and creatives, according to the Black Collective.
Juneteenth is a federal holiday in the U.S. that celebrates the anniversary of the legal order issued June 19, 1865 that proclaimed freedom for enslaved peoples in Texas.
