Hot off the presses – evening edition: The Federal Way Mirror invites you to join the paper from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 9 at Poverty Bay Café for informal conversation, coffee, beer, wine and appetizers. You’ll be able to ask the newspaper staff about their work or talk about issues affecting the region, such as homelessness, addiction and development, all while supporting a local business and the work of nonprofit FUSION to serve families in need. Federal Way Rotary Club’s 3rd annual FUNdraiser: Head to Evergreen Middle School from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 20, for a speed croquet tournament to raise money for a good cause. Please bring sunscreen as appropriate and wear stable footwear. Croquet happens on the grass, so the ground may be uneven in some areas. This event is great for all ages, but the club asks that players are 8 years old or older to participate on a team. Alcohol is not allowed on school property. Kiwanis 68th Annual Salmon Bake: On July 26 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., join the Kiwanis Club for their annual Salmon Bake. Last year the club served 900 meals. The event will feature Baked salmon, a wine and beer garden, live entertainment, silent auction, and card wall.
