Hot off the Presses: The Federal Way Mirror invites the public to join the newspaper staff from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 11 at Poverty Bay Café for informal conversation, coffee, beer, wine and appetizers. People can ask the newspaper staff about their work or talk about issues affecting the region, such as homelessness, addiction and development, all while supporting a local business and the work of nonprofit FUSION to serve families in need. Poverty Bay Café is located at 1108 South 322nd Place in Federal Way, north of Celebration Park.

FWPS School Board: School board meeting at 6 p.m. Feb. 11 at Evergreen Middle School located at 26812 40th Avenue South, Building A, in Kent.

State of the City Address: Federal Way Mayor Jim Ferrell’s annual State of the City Address will be held at 6 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Performing Arts and Event Center, 31510 Pete von Reichbauer Way South. The event is free and open to the public.

Valentine’s Day “We Go Together” party: Doors open at 8 p.m. Feb. 14 at this Valentine’s Day party in Federal Way, located at 2316 SW 336th St., #C5. Presented by Frank Gittens and La Sistas, this event will feature live music from DJ Kure, delicious food, and amazing company. Tickets will be available at the door.

Valentine’s Day Dance Studio Open House: Arthur Murray Dance Studio is holding a fun and romantic evening of dancing and mingling at their open house starting at 8 p.m. Feb. 14 at 32724 Pacific Highway South in Federal Way. Learn more by calling 253-785-3654.

Bowling for Bloodworks: The Rotary Club of Federal Way is hosting a bowling fundraiser with food, music, prizes and more from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 15 at Secoma Lanes. People will have the opportunity to donate blood. Cost is $125 to bowl, $500 for a team of five (four bowlers plus one person to donate blood). Best of Federal Way 2025: The Mirror is hosting the annual Best of Federal Way celebration on March 12 at the Federal Way Community Center, 876 S. 336th St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for mixing and mingling as well as food samples and vendor booths. The awards presentation and prize drawings begin at 6:45 p.m. with the unveiling of contest winners as chosen by the community.
