Car wash fundraiser: The City of Federal Way Youth Commission is hosting a car wash fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 12 at the Federal Way Community Center located at 876 S. 333rd St. All proceeds will support the FirStep Scholarship, established in 2019 to help youth access recreational activities they otherwise couldn’t afford. Car washes are $8 for cars and $10 for trucks and SUVs.
Drive thru recycling: Bring tires and/or mattresses for recycling and documents for shredding to the free drive thru recycling event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 12 at the South King Tool Library located at 1700 S. 340th St. in Federal Way.
Lose Yourself in Music – Symphony, Serenade, Divertimento: At 4:30 p.m. April 13, enjoy the Federal Way Symphony’s dazzling pianist. Mayumi Tayake is featured in Bohuslav Martinů’s compelling and delightful Divertimento for Piano Left-Hand at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center located at 31510 Pete von Reichbauer Way S. The concert will also include Symphony No. 4 in D (K. 19), written by nine-year-old Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Tchaikovsky’s beloved Serenade for Strings.

Community Garden Easter Egg Hunt: Free annual event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 19, hosted by the Light of Christ Community Garden. Fun for all age kids.
Protest and food collection: A local Indivisible group will lead a protest over the Trump administration from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. April 19 at the corner of South 320th Street and Pacific Highway South in Federal Way. Organizers will also be collecting nonperishable food donations to donate to the Multi-Service Center.
Village Green Easter Egg Hunt and Breakfast: Meet the Easter Bunny, play outdoor games and of course hunt for Easter eggs at the Village Green’s event from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. April 19 in the Hearthside Perennial Garden located at 35419 First Ave. S. in Federal Way. RSVP by calling 253-785-9708.
All the World’s a Stage – Earth Day Celebration: This free community event will include a bouncy house, face painting, gardening tips, local vendors and even a magic show from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 19 at the Performing Arts and Event Center, located at 31510 Pete von Reichbauer Way S. in Federal Way.
Plant stewards: The Native Plant Stewardship Program educates community volunteers about the region’s native plants and plant communities, and teaches how to use this knowledge to protect and restore Washington’s natural ecosystems.
